Amazingingly Piranha Models this year has made it to its’ 10th anniversary. So far 27 white metal & 2 resin models have been released and there are more planned for 2008.This however is not the big news! The big news is Piranha Models will be closing at the end of 2008! After years of carrying the torch of white metal 1/43 kits passed on to me by my father in law I have decide that the 10 year anniversary & 30 white metal kit references released would be a good place to stop. I am not willing to become the Don Quixote of modelcars and faced with the combination of a dwindling interest in kit building, the unstoppable tide of the industrials and the constantly rising raw material prices all good things must come to an end. On the 31st of December 2008 Piranha models will cease to exist and the kits previous released will no longer be available. On the 1st of January 2009 In 2009 Mont Ventoux Montage will be making brand new white metal factory built only exclusive models series in partnership with Fred Suber of Suberfactory.com. To finish the last year of Piranha models there will be 3 new releases Ref P28 Ferrari Gto Spyder ( release date June 20th) Ref P29 Ferrari 342 Ref P30 Aston DB4S Barchetta (release date August 30th) There will also be the release of the last AMR model created in partnership with my father in law Andre-Marie Ruf and I will be giving more details on the story behind this model nearer the time. AMR Ref 13 Jaguar XJ12C Broadspeed ( release date September the 30th) To avoid a last minute rush I will as I release new models I will also be ending older references, here are the dates on which certain kits will no longer be available. Ref P 26 Lusso Gto – July 31st 2008 Ref P 27 410S – August 31st 2008 Ref P 28 Gto Spyder -September 30th 2008 Ref P 29 Ferrari 342 – October 31st 2008 Ref P 30 Aston DB4S – November 30th 2008 AMR Ref P 13 Jaguar XJ12C – December 20th 2008 I look forward to what will be a busy year and would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you who have supported Piranha Models over the last 10 years. Etonnament Piranha Models fête son 10e anniversaire cette année. Jusqu’ à présent, 27 modèles en métal blanc et résine ont été produits et d’autres sont prévus pour 2008. Néanmoins, ceci n’est pas un scoop ! Le scoop, c’est que Piranha Models fermera à la fin de 2008 ! Après avoir pris le relais de la production de kits en métal blanc au 1/43e de mon beau-père, j’ai décidé qu’un 10e anniversaire et 30 productions de kit serait le moment pour s’arrêter. Ne souhaitant pas devenir le Don Quichotte des modèles réduits et faisant face à un désintéressement du montage de kit, la vague infranchissable des industriels et le prix constamment en hausse des matières premières, toutes les bonnes choses ont une fin. Le 31 décembre 2008, Piranha Models cessera donc son activité et les kits jusqu’àlors en vente ne seront plus disponibles. Le 1er Janvier 2009, Mont Ventoux Montage prendra le dessus. Oui, il n’ a pas de fin, seulement un nouveau départ. En 2009, Mont Ventoux Montage fera de toutes nouvelles séries de Factory Built en métal blanc, séries exclusives en partenariat avec Fred Suber de Suberfactory.com. Pour terminer cette dernière année, il y aura 3 nouveaux modèles : Ref P28 Ferrari Gto Spyder (sortie prévue le Juin 20) Ref P29 Ferrari 342 Ref P30 Aston DB4S Barchetta (sortie prévue le 30 Aout ) Enfin, est également prévue la sortie de la dernière AMR créée en partenariat avec mon beau-père André-Marie Ruf. Je donnerai tous les détails de l’histoire qui se cache derrière ce modèle en temps et en heure.
